If you decide to settle down in Saint-Martin,
check that all your electrical appliances
operate on 220 volts and 50/60Hz. Some appliances
start to work well but wear out very quickly.
Do not bring your TV
set with you, it would not work here: Saint-Martin's
standard is

Animal Life:
The scolopendrium, looks like a millipede
but stings like a scorpio. If you have been
sting, see a doctor.
Flora:
The manchionnel tree has little round leaves
with yellow vein in the middle. Its sap is
very poisonous and will burn. Do not stay
under it when it's raining because the rain
water will dilute the sap and cause heavy
burns. It has been almost systematically
suppressed on the beaches.
